Miami, FL — February 13, 2025—Seaworthy Collective, a Miami-based nonprofit BlueTech entrepreneur support organization, is proud to announce the addition of four new board members, along with the return of three of our founding board members for 2025.

These visionary leaders bring deep expertise from a variety of backgrounds and industries, including ocean impact, entrepreneurship, innovation, sustainable finance, branding, and a shared commitment to scaling solutions for ocean and climate regeneration.

The new board members are (in alphabetical order):

Dave Doebler - Co-founder of VolunteerCleanup.org

George Lanza - Chief of Staff, Miami-Dade Beacon Council

Christine Mendonça - Founder & CEO of Shore to Shore Advisory.

Andrew Quarrie - CEO/Founder of URBLANDIA, longtime advisor to Seaworthy

They join three of our continually dedicated founding board members, including:

Sirena Andras -  Founder of Creative Chi, the first and only Miami-based Certified B Corporation for Sustainable Branding and Visual Identity.

Scarlett Lanzas - Founder & CEO Accountable Impact

Christina Thirkell - Nonprofit Leadership & Growth Strategist

“Building on the incredible dedication of our original trio of recommitted board members, we’re thrilled to grow an even more actively engaged board with demonstrated community, business, and environmental leaders who can open doors, build bridges, and break down barriers for and with our community. We’re lucky and grateful to have their collective expertise and willingness to contribute to our cause, and are thrilled to start 2025 with our largest and most accomplished board to date!” said Daniel Kleinman, Seaworthy’s Founder and CEO. “Their leadership and contributions will play critical roles in making 2025 the year Seaworthy exponentially scales our work and impact.”

In their roles, these seven members will collaborate with Seaworthy’s leadership team to empower future cohorts of BlueTech entrepreneurs driving regional and global impact in the blue economy. Their strategic guidance will amplify early-stage businesses that bridge innovation, entrepreneurship, and environmental stewardship.

New for 2025, Seaworthy Collective is also revamping our Advisory Council structure to invite new members to dive in with us and support our team’s efforts. Historically, Seaworthy’s Advisory Council members have contributed their networks, expertise, and resources to advance the success of our programs and initiatives on a more casual basis than board members. Moving forward, Seaworthy is restructuring the Advisory Councils more intentionally, with separate Advisory Councils to support each of our teams.

Altogether, this year, Seaworthy Collective is growing their opportunities to engage with and contribute to their community as we build on the strong foundations of their work from the past 4 years. To catch up on their latest accomplishments, view their 2024 impact report here! They will also be sharing opportunities for new mentors and collaborators to join their network via their new platform, The Shoreline, launching soon.
